Yummy Blackberry French Toast!

Ingredients

  • Dry ingredients: cinnamon, apple pie spice
  • 1/2 cup half/half
  • 12 slices of brioche bread
  • 1 pack of fresh blackberries
  • 1 tub of cool whip topping
  • 12 eggs
  • 3 tsp. sugar
  • 1 to 2 tsp. of butter
  • maple syrup
  • 1 tsp. of vanilla extract

Directions

    Blackberry French Toast
  1. In a bowl, crack 12 egg yolks, add 1/2 cup of half/half, 1 tsp. of vanilla extract, dash of apple pie spice and whisk together.
  2. On medium heat, add 1 to 2 tsp. of butter to a cast iron pan. Dip slice of brioche bread in egg mixture on both sides.
  3. Add to pan and cook on each side for 3-5 minutes or until fully cooked. Add a dash of cinnamon on top.
  4. In a separate sauce pan on medium heat, add pack of blackberries and 3 tsp. of sugar. Stir for 5-10 minutes. Reduce heat to a shimmer.
  5. Serve french toast with a spoonful of blackberry sauce, maple syrup and a dolap of cool whip.
  6. Pairs nicely with chorizo casserole & fruit parfait.
