Grandma's Delicious Lasagna

Ingredients

  • Tomato & Basil Marinara Sauce (Barilla 24 oz.)
  • 1 can of Tomato Paste (6 oz.)
  • 1 pack of Kobe Ground Beef
  • Dry Ingredients: (thyme, basil, salt, pepper, oregano)
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • Half of a white onion
  • 1/2 tsp. brown sugar

  • 1 pack of shredded Mozzarella Cheese (8 oz.)
  • 1 Cottage Cheese container (16 oz.)
  • 1 pack of Lasagna Noodles

Directions

    Grandma’s Lasagna
  1. Add olive oil to a medium pan, and on medium heat add diced onions and minced garlic. Caramelize for 1-2 minutes and remove from pan.
  2. Add 1 pack of Kobe ground beef (or any ground beef of your choice) cook on medium heat for 10-15 minutes or until fully cooked. Use a stainless steel spatula or cooking utensil to break-down the meat into small pieces. (To cook faster, cover with a lid )
  3. Stir in the caramelized onions and minced garlic, and add a pinch of: thyme, basil, salt, pepper, oregano.
  4. Add the can of tomato paste, and mix thoroughly.
  5. Add the container of marina sauce. Add a dash of each dry ingredient again to the sauce.
  6. Add the teaspoon of brown sugar and stir.
  7. Reduce heat to a shimmer and cover.
  8. Cook Lasagna pasta (follow direction on the package). Drain pasta.
  9. Use a “9×13” casserole baking dish and add three to four cooked lasagna strips across the baking dish. Add half of the sauce on top. Using a small spoon, sprinkle small dollops of cottage cheese evenly on top the sauce. Next, sprinkle half of the bag of Monterey jack cheese and half the bag of Mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce. Repeat steps. (Note: I only use two layers of noodles.)
  10. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  11. Place Lasagna casserole dish in the oven for 30 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted.
  12. Pairs nicely with a kale salad & garlic bread.
